This is the part worth understanding before you send anything, because it is how we get you a price.

When you send an enquiry, we share it with suppliers and sourcing partners in our network so they can quote. That includes the part number, quantity, dates and any requirements you gave us, together with your name, company and business email — because a supplier often needs to come back to you directly with a quotation, stock position or a question about your requirement.

So please expect that a partner may contact you directly about a requirement you sent us. If you would rather they did not, say so in your enquiry or email us and we will source on your behalf without passing your contact details on — it may take longer, and for some obsolete parts it may limit what we can find.

We share only what is needed to quote your requirement. We do not sell your information, we do not pass it to advertisers, and we do not add you to marketing lists you did not ask for.

The form asks for a business email and company name, and optionally quantity, target price, required date, annual usage, date-code or condition requirements, application, phone number and free-text notes. All of it is stored so the enquiry can be answered.

Alongside it we record the page the enquiry came from, the referring page, your browser's user-agent string, the country our hosting provider reports, and a salted one-way hash of your IP address. The hash is used only to rate-limit submissions and to catch spam; the IP address itself is not stored.

Searches on the site are recorded — the text, how many results it found, and the part page it led to — because they tell us which parts people want and which to add next. Searches that return nothing are also kept with a count and the referring page. They are not linked to you.

The public site sets one first-party session cookie, fm_first, which remembers how your visit began — the page you arrived on, the website that referred you (for example a search engine) and any campaign tags in that first link. If you send an enquiry, this is stored with it so we know which pages and searches bring enquiries. It holds no personal information, is not shared, and is deleted when you close your browser. The site runs no advertising and has no third-party tracking scripts. A separate session cookie is set only when staff sign in to the internal admin area.

We process your enquiry because you asked us to source something, and because we have a legitimate interest in running a sourcing business and answering the requests people send us. Rate-limiting and spam control rest on our legitimate interest in keeping the service working. If you ask us to stop, we will.

Beyond the sourcing partners described above: the site is hosted by Vercel, the database is operated by Neon, and enquiry notifications are delivered by Resend. Each processes this information on our behalf, under contract, and none of them may use it for their own purposes.

Enquiries are kept for three years from your last contact with us, because sourcing relationships are long-running and a buyer who asked about a part in 2024 often asks again. After that they are deleted. Failed-search records are kept indefinitely as a catalogue backlog and contain nothing personal.

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to us processing it — including asking us not to share your details with partners. Email [email protected] and we will deal with it within a month, usually much sooner. If you are in the UK or EU and think we have got it wrong, you can complain to your national data protection authority — in the UK that is the Information Commissioner's Office.
