What we collect when you send an enquiry

The enquiry form asks for a company name and a business email address, and optionally a quantity, target price, required date, date-code or condition requirement, application, phone number, country and free-text notes. All of it is stored so the enquiry can be answered.

Alongside it we record the page the enquiry was sent from, the referring page, your browser's user-agent string, the country reported by our hosting provider, and a salted one-way hash of your IP address. The hash is used to rate-limit submissions; the IP address itself is not stored.

What we collect when you search

Searches that return no results are recorded — the search text, how many times it has been seen, and the referring page — because they tell us which parts to add to the catalogue next. They are not linked to an individual, and searches that do return results are not recorded.

Cookies

The public site sets no cookies and runs no third-party analytics or advertising scripts. A session cookie is set only for staff signing in to the internal admin area.

Who we share it with

Answering a sourcing enquiry means asking suppliers about the part and quantity you asked for. [State whether supplier enquiries include your company name]. The site is hosted by [hosting provider] and the database is operated by [database provider], both of which process this data on our behalf. We do not sell it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are retained for [retention period]. Failed-search records are retained indefinitely as a catalogue backlog; they contain no personal data.
